Despite Expectations Abdelmoez Hussein Mukabarabi *Behavioral Changes of Sudanese People in Wartime and the Decline of the Ethical Genome in the Value System..!? _(Who Killed the Roots of Grace, Goodness, and Purity Within Them..)_

Has the flood of political change revolutions and the fires of war swept away the constants of our societal sociological roots, as one of the established principles of deeply-rooted educational upbringing, customs, traditions, and the system of values inherited fundamentally and rooted in the _nostalgia_ of Sudanese communal ethnicities?

What has occurred and changed in the moral structure of the Sudanese value system, especially during this cursed period of war..!?

The value system has disappeared as an educational reference. It was a state that manifested in the Sudanese genome as personal characteristics and behavioral traits accumulated in the historical laboratory of life across all generations: represented in goodness, tolerance, chivalry, spontaneity, purity, selflessness, and reason. Also in the exchange of discourse of mercy and gentleness, and in calling to good.

Tenderness, wisdom, and transcendence have been uprooted from the Sudanese political, societal, cultural, and even _da‘wa_ [religious outreach] arenas. Speech platforms have now become marked by criminalization, demonization, mockery, and arrogance toward others.

Sudanese people were known to be people of manners and modesty, cheerful, with smiling faces and lofty, humble souls — with the humility of the great. They have even forgotten to “lower their wing” to one another, and to be gentle, welcoming, peaceful, joyful, optimistic, and happy.

The people of Sudan were never, in their historical past, like this frightening and miserable image of spreading hatred, malice, and verbal and behavioral extremism in our tolerant and reconciled societies.

But after the December Revolution, the change, and during the period of war, reality became filled with malice, hatred, and violent tensions.

Sudanese people have left behind their noble and lofty ethics — as a people rare in the world. They follow the Prophet of Mercy, Cheerfulness, and Moral Grace, peace and blessings be upon him. They love him with praise, longing, and in visions. So how can they go against him in the present?

Every Sudanese person is a complete project of humanity, compassion, and beautiful, humorous conduct, close to people’s hearts.

What are the grave calamities that turned them into sources of evil, hatred, and rancor?
Is it political focus? The economic situation? Or authoritarian repression?

In my estimation, the reason is the change in value references. They have become about worldly gains, competition for pleasures, and chasing after power, positions, and the accumulation of wealth. This caused violent jostling and fierce competition, with victories of the self and the fanaticism of political, intellectual, and ethnic affiliations — all of which negatively affected the components of general Sudanese behavior and that of individuals.

Sudan has never known such a pattern in its known past history.

So is there any hope of returning to that time when its people were characterized by goodness, inner purity, and spontaneity? When their reality was more beautiful, and their simple life was made up of happiness, bliss, stability, and prosperity?
